She Let Her 3-Year-Old Call The Shots For A Week. The Results? Incredible!

Fashion blogger and mom Summer Bellessa recently decided to do the unthinkable: let her 3-year-old son, Rockwell, pick her outfits for a week. Inspired to challenge her fashion and wear anything little Rockwell threw her way, Summer jumped right in. "How crazy could it be?" she thought to herself. "I like everything in my closet, and I mix and match items all the time," said Summer.

She soon learned just how creative her mini-fashionista could be! From mismatched shoes to tri-layered shirts, Rockwell quickly proved himself to be quite the haute couture designer!

But more importantly, Summer learned that people aren't judging you as much as you might think. "I realized how little people really care about what you’re wearing," she said. "The pressure we put on ourselves to look a certain way is just that: pressure we put on ourselves. I wore two different shoes for two days, and no one noticed until I pointed it out."

Would you be brave enough to let your child or grandchild dress you? I think it would be a fun experiment!

Day 1: Bob Dylan tee, gray skirt, tights, and nude shoes. “Are you sure you want to pair these tights with these shoes?” Summer asked. "Yup," Rockwell replied.

Day 2: Polka-dotted leggings, Minnie Mouse tee, and gold flats. "This was probably my favorite day," Summer said.

Day 3: Cargo jacket, flowery dress, neon socks, and striped sneakers. “I like flowers,” Rockwell said. Of the dress/sock combo, the toddler explained, “they both have flowers.”

Day 4: Collared shirt, quarter-sleeve shirt, graphic tee, capris, and mismatched shoes. "Mommy can’t go outside without any pants on," Summer had to explain, as little Rockwell had initially neglected to select a pair.

The mis-matched shoes of Day 4. "I don’t think he realized that they were two different shoes," Summer said.

Day 5: Arrow shirt, jeans, one boot, and one rain boot. "I guess you have to look for some pants that have arrows on them," Rockwell instructed his mom.

"Silliness is good for your kids and for your heart. Don’t take yourself to serious [sic]: they’re just clothes."
