Sometimes when you look sad, that doesn't actually mean you are sad!
It is cliché to say, but you can't judge a book by its cover. This cat might look very sad, but she's actually a sweet, happy girl!
Emmy Lou Sugarbean, aka Truckasaurus, was dumped at an animal shelter at about 2 years old. It's unclear why she was surrendered, but being a special needs kitty meant that Emmy Lou needed a family that could care for her and love her unconditionally.
"The shelter staff really cared about her and wanted to find a better place for her and reached out to me on Facebook," Karyn Poplin of Kitty Adventure Rescue League & Sanctuary told Love Meow.
It is so heartwarming to see animals like Emmy Lou and Chuck the German shepherd live their best lives with their caring owners.

Kitty Adventure Rescue League & Sanctuary takes in special needs, disabled, senior, and otherwise in need cats.
Karyn Poplin runs the league with her husband, where they take in all of the cats that need a special amount of care and affection.

Emmy Lou was born with radial hypoplasia, which means she is either missing bones in her front legs or the bones are too short.
Karyn shared their experience with everyone on Facebook:
"A few weeks back we rescued some precious cargo and I've been selfish and haven't shared her with you. Well, today is the day! Meet Emmy Lou Sugarbean aka Truckasaurus."

"She is roughly 2 years old and was born with radial hypoplasia, which in very basic terms means the radius bones in her arms is short or missing and that causes them to permanently 'twist.' She's a spunky gal, climbs windows and cat trees and even loves chasing a laser! She's a tiny bit slower but she doesn't know she's different!"

"Her eyelids are also a tad malformed as they don't open all the way — so she always looks sad. Don't be fooled though, she purrs like a diesel truck!
"Did you notice another special thing about her? She also has heterochromia — she has one blue eye and one green eye! Ain't she purty?"

All the help the league has gotten from donations has allowed for them to purchase carpeting and stairs that will make Emmy Lou's life much easier!

Kitty Adventure Rescue League & Sanctuary has brought in many animals like Emmy Lou that needed their extra loving care. Just a few months ago they brought in Oswald, a 20-year-old cat who had been given up on.
Make sure you SHARE this sweet girl with all of your friends and family!
