In the video below, a love triangle takes shape. In the center of it all is a man, and fighting for his affections are one jealous dog and one surprisingly affectionate turkey.
Yes, you heard that correctly: a turkey.
Shot in Santa Clarita, California, the video features some rather unexpected interactions between man, his best friend, and a bird that is synonymous with Thanksgiving.
It begins with the man sitting outside on a basketball court.
A big old turkey waddles up next to him while a woman films the scene. Then, in rather stunning fashion, the turkey deliberately climbs onto the man's lap for a gentle hug.
"Aww!" the woman behind the camera croons.
The man cuddles with the turkey, caressing its feathers.
But then, the third corner of the love triangle enters: The family's dog walks over, getting closer as if to say "Hey, remember me? Remember your best friend?"
Seeing as how the turkey is standing in the way of him and the man, the jealous dog comes around toward the man's shoulder, as if to confront the turkey.
That doesn't work out too well for the poor pup.
The moment he gets close, the turkey lashes out, as if to say "Get away from my man!"
The dog snarls and, sensing defeat, sadly walks away.
Love is truly a battlefield.
