Inez Harries and Venice Shaw are centenarian twins from Burbank, California who celebrated their 100th birthday back in 2011 with a special reception acknowledging their apparent ability to cheat death. ‘The odds of being a twin and having both individuals reach the age of 100 is one in 700 million,” says the newscaster in the video below. 700 million — that’s a pretty narrow window of opportunity! In an interview their granddaughter Joyce Spencer told VCS, “They will say the secret to their longevity is that they’ve been lucky to have good health. That is true, but I think their positive outlook and resilience […] are their true secrets to longevity and happiness.”
