We’ve seen amazing animal amputees defy the odds with their strength and perseverance.
Now be prepared to be awed by another incredible kitty: Caffrey the two-legged cat. And this isn’t a cat who’s managed in the way that other immobilized animals have, such as Faith, the bipedal puppy. Caffrey only has one front leg and one hind leg after a series of life-saving operations. “But how does a cat get around on two legs?” you may be wondering. Well, where there’s a will, there is most certainly a way for this inspiring animal.
Caffrey is a fluffy Persian kitty who was struck by a vehicle when he was three years old. As a result, he lost his left hind leg, but rehabilitation and care thanks to his human family left him fairing just fine with three legs for the next decade.
In 2013, Caffrey experienced another brush with misfortune after his vet discovered a malignant tumor in his left front leg, and his family was advised to put him down. Unyielding in their belief that Caffrey could again bounce back after a second amputation, they opted to have the surgery. A mere two months later, Caffrey was seen hopping around happily on two legs and in good health!
