Thanks to the internet’s simple search capabilities, it has never been easier to find inspiration for fun, new DIY projects.
When one Imgur user's wife found a design for an adorable, upcycled hall tree storage unit, she quickly enlisted her husband’s expertise to build a version for their home.
She certainly reached out to the right person for the job. Her husband immediately began searching through all the old cabinet doors and home doors he had on hand, looking for the right pieces for this particular design.
He chose doors that would aesthetically pair well, but would also be easy to cut down and maneuver into place.
This project quickly became a team effort. Both his son and his wife ended up joining in the upcycling fun, lending their many talents to the project.

When this Imgur DIY-er’s wife found an awesome hall tree online, she tapped her husband's supreme upcycling skills to bring her dream cabinet to life.
This DIY-er got to work, rummaging through his collection of old kitchen cabinet doors and larger doors for pieces best suited to this project.
Once he decided on the right doors, he laid out his assorted materials on the garage floor, playing around with different configurations.
After settling on a layout he liked, he began attaching the pieces together.
Lucky for him, this DIY-er didn’t have to work on his project entirely alone. His adorable son came by to help with the assembly.
He cut up an old butcher block kitchen table as well, adding yet another level of historical intrigue to this upcycled design.
Since this upcycler was repurposing a funky conglomeration of used materials, all coming from different sources, they all didn’t necessarily line up perfectly with one another right off the bat.
Thanks to careful measuring and maneuvering, he was able to find a perfect spot for each repurposed item.
Once the hall tree’s structure was set, this DIY-er’s little helper returned to aid in the painting.
His wife wanted to make sure the piece had the right distressed feel, so she stepped in to help out as well.
Thanks to the whole family’s team efforts, this upcycled hall tree turned out splendidly!
Now, the whole family has an adorable place to hang their coats, take a seat, and store their shoes.
This DIY-er took his wife’s inspiration and ran with it, creating an awesome piece the whole family can now enjoy.
