Companies have logos for the very simple reason that they're eye-catching and easy to remember.
The colors, the shapes, and the styles all tell the consumer exactly what this company is about, and what products and services it can offer you.
Or do they really?
Designer Viktor Hertz thinks most logos are holding back a little bit. He thinks they should be more honest and up-front with their customers about what's really going on, and so he set out to make a series of logos with a little more blunt honesty than before.
The results are pretty funny, as it usually is when an established icon gets a snarky makeover. Of course, there's no word on how the actual companies feel about it.
Check out some of his extremely honest takes on some of our favorite, most recognizable brands, and you may find yourself agreeing — even if you don't want to.

Hertz calls his series 'Honest Logos,' where he reimagines popular companies' logos with a twist.

He describes the 'actual content of the company and what they should really be called.'

Some of them are pretty direct; Hertz doesn't beat around the bush when it comes to his views.

And he knows that not all of them will be super-popular.

Although some really can't be argued with.

But he isn't too concerned.

'Some are cheap,' he says, 'some might be a bit funny, some will maybe be brilliant. I don't know.'

Whatever you think they are, they offer a different look at consumer culture that maybe needs to be considered sometimes.

Still, some companies (and some consumers) might take issue with some of his stances.

While other people might find them all too true.

Sometimes, Hertz's commentary even spills over to the consumers themselves.

Of course, he recognizes that he's also one of those consumers, and gamely pokes fun at himself, too.

And really, most of the time, his commentary is just telling us what we already know.

Whether or not we'd like to admit it.

But his work is great for a laugh, even if it's at yourself. After all, it's nice to have a little reality check every once in a while.
