When we curl up for bed, we want to be as comfortable as possible. Of course, that means picking out the coziest PJs. But if you're anything like me, you have probably lost a certain sense of style that folks seemed to have more of back in the day.
At least, that's the only conclusion I can come to while looking at these adorable vintage pajama patterns! It makes me really wish I had paid better attention when my mom tried to teach me to sew, because I would totally whip up and wear most of these today.
With examples from the 1940s through the 1970s, you just can't deny that the vintage pajama patterns have a bit more charm than what some of us sink into bed wearing.
Did you have any of these pajama styles back in the day? Did we miss any that you loved from the past?

I would totally wear these today — and probably be tempted to wear the gowns as normal dresses!
2. 1948 Women's Pajamas
I'm not so sure about those ruffles, but a pocket would certainly be handy.
3. 1948 Teen And Young Boys' Pajamas
These youngsters look like they're about to walk into a business meeting in their dreams with those straight-laced PJs!
4. 1960s Tween Girls' Pajamas
Girls around 10 or 11 years old would still look precious in these belted patterns today.
5. 1940s Long And Short Pajamas
The long option is a bit plain, but I would love to lounge around in those shorts with cute sleeves after waking up in the summertime.

I'm sure this helped plenty of ladies sleep like the stars of Hollywood back in the day — all the way down to those adorable knit booties!

This pinup girl look was probably pretty risqué back in the day, but it still looks so cozy.

Is anyone else getting Partridge Family thoughts from the little boy in blue?
9. 1976 Caftan Women's Pajamas
You can see the Asian influence on fashion on the far right, but it's the floral pattern on the left that caught my eye.
10. 1944 Teen Girls' Pajamas
These sets would still be perfect for girls heading to a fun slumber party today!
11. 1970s Young Girls' Nightgowns And Loungewear
Those angled pockets and busy floral patterns with the high empire waist were such a huge trend back in the day.
12. 1970s Teen And Young Girls' Pajamas And Robes
Honestly, I might make one of those robes for myself today — complete with the charming heart on the shoulder!
