This is one performance you're going to want to listen to over and over again.
One young lady stood out in a recent blind audition when she had all three judges begging her to join their team. 8-year-old Telesa "Esang" De Torres blew it out of the water with her powerhouse vocals and crisp pronunciation as she sang "Home" from Broadway's The Wiz. The lyrics are just as gorgeous as the voice singing them: "When I think of home, I think of a place Where there's love overflowing/Wind that makes the tall trees bend into leaning/Suddenly the snowflakes that fall have a meaning/Sprinkling the scene/Makes it all clean…"
One by one, the judges turned their chairs around to see the tiny body behind the huge voice, but no one was as excited as judge Lea Salonga. Lea, who has been a Broadway star since 1989, recognized Esang as the young singer who appeared on "It's Showtime's" mini-me segment as Lea herself. Two judges tried to win Esang over to their teams, but Esang chose Lea as her coach. I have no doubt this team can take it all the way!
Clearly, Esang has a true gift from above. When you see her parents standing proudly on the sidelines as the judges try to woo their prodigal daughter, I guarantee your heart will melt.
