Man Walks 20 Miles To Work Until One Day Cop Follows Him And Sees Why

This video shared by Wonderbot tells the story of 20-year-old Walter Carr, who relocated to Homewood, Alabama, with his mom after tragedy struck their family during Hurricane Katrina.

Walter’s family lost their home, and both he and his mother hoped to make a fresh start. And even though he was still a student, he was adamant about working as much as he could to help support his mom.

He found an open position at a moving company about 20 miles away from his home, but he didn’t worry too much about it because he had a car. As luck would have it, though, the day before he was supposed to start his new job, his car died, and he didn’t have the extra cash to get it fixed.

His family really needed the income, and he didn’t want to flake on his job on the first day, so he got out his phone and Googled the distance to the address of the home he was instructed to help move the next day.

It said that it was approximately 20 miles away and would take about seven hours to walk. Utterly determined, he decided to set his alarm for midnight, and when it went off, he began his long journey to work on foot.

When he was about halfway there and exhausted, Walter was stopped by a police officer who was trying to figure out why this young man was all by himself in the middle of nowhere and seemed to be in quite a rush.

When Walter was finally able to tell him where exactly he was headed, the officer ended up giving him a lift the rest of the way.
