3 Men Jump In Rowboat And Chase After Moose When They Notice Cable Around His Neck And Antlers

Taking care of our wildlife can manifest itself in many ways. It can start by taking care of green spaces near our homes and not littering. You can help plant trees in your neighborhood. Or you can keep an eye on all the animals around you, and help rescue them when they are in trouble!

Of course, with bigger and potentially dangerous animals it's best to rely on professionals who know how to approach these creatures in a safe way.

In October, Alaska Fish and Game wildlife technician Larry Lewis found himself in an odd situation: He and two other men chased after a moose in water because the animal had a cable wrapped around his antlers and neck.

There was no chance of the moose escaping them, as he would be too slow in water, so the rescuers quickly caught up.

In the footage below, it takes Larry a few attempts to reach for the cord. He hovers directly over the animal to have the cord totally removed. The exhausted moose could have drowned in his state.

Finally, after a few minutes, the moose is freed. He doesn't realize it at first, but his rescuers have no doubt he'll be able to recover in no time!

Please SHARE to thank rescuers like Larry for putting themselves in danger for the sake of wildlife!
