This incredible song and accompanying music video really helps explain what someone dealing with autism is going through.
Singer/songwriter Johnny Orr sings his song "We'll Get By," and if you sit back and really listen to some of his lyrics, you'll truly feel the emotions that Orr and the little boy in this video are going through.
As the boy goes throughout his life, we see that, even though he struggles, he still loves to be alive, he still has wants and fears, and even though he might have trouble communicating his wants and fears, that doesn't make him any less of a human being.
The little boy in this beautiful video still likes to paint, play with animals, and wishes he could play with the other kid. But, as Orr says, "my autism is like a prison I'm in. I share my heart but only in my mind. I share my pain when I scream at night. I can't express to you what I'm going through. The only way's for me to cry."
Orr wrote the song at the request of a dear friend who has two autistic children. The lyrics really show the everyday struggles that so many children around our country suffer through on a day to day basis.
Through every single tear, this family finally comes together and realizes, even though they might have some struggles, that doesn't mean they can't all love each other unconditionally. Johnny Orr really put things into perspective in this gorgeous video and song; he finishes with the heartbreaking sentiment that until the day comes when we can figure out the causes of autism, we'll have to get by.
