During the summer, we have some of the most patriotic holidays. Memorial Day kicks off the summer as we honor our veterans, and not too far after comes the Fourth of July, America's Independence Day.
On the Fourth of July, many of us reflect on what it means to be Americans and celebrate our country in many ways. It's always fun to feel as patriotic as possible, donning our nation's colors of red, white, and blue. We throw parties with American flag decorations and we even have patriotic cupcakes!
But another great way to celebrate this country is by singing our national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner." In 1991, at Super Bowl XXV, the late Whitney Houston performed the greatest version of this song that has ever been heard. Singers have sung the anthem before the big game for years before her and years after her, but no one can hold a candle to Whitney in her prime.
The video below will take you back to that very day. Whitney begins flawlessly, and when she gets to the final notes, she may honestly bring you to tears. I had chills while she sang. Her voice is so powerful and truly makes this song feel even more patriotic, even after 25 years. Do you remember when she performed this live?
Don't forget to SHARE this unforgettable performance with all of your friends and family!
