Will Smith Insists ‘There’s Never Been Infidelity’ In His Marriage To Jada Pinkett Smith

Fans of Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, were stunned when the pair revealed Jada had engaged in an "entanglement" with a third party in 2021. At the time, Will explained that their relationship wasn't entirely traditional.

In his recent memoir, Will, the actor explained, "Jada never believed in conventional marriage. … Jada had family members that had an unconventional relationship. So she grew up in a way that was very different than how I grew up."

He even shared that they had both had relationships outside the marriage, telling GQ that his wife wasn't "the only one engaging in other sexual relationships."

Jada's alleged affair with August Alsina was said to have happened when she and Will were not together.

Will even acknowledged as much, telling his wife on her Red Table Talk show, "We decided we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I’ll figure out how to make myself happy."

Despite what the couple did or didn't agree on, the conversation around Jada's "entanglement" set off a fierce conversation online. Jada was also the victim of several memes implying she was less than faithful to her husband.

In a March 2022 interview with Gayle King, Will touched on the topic again. After being asked how he handles the "chatter" about his marriage, Will explained, "I have decided that chatter about my life can be of a benefit to people. I think that chatter is the first stage to having a real conversation, and being able to truly explore if some of the things in your heart are loving, or poisonous."

It was then that he insisted the two have not experienced infidelity in their marriage, before adding, "Jada and I talk about everything. And we have never surprised one another with anything, ever."

He then added, "Life has gotten really, really simple for me right now, right? I think I'm a better actor than I've ever been. And I think I'm going to, you know, these next ten years of my career, I think, will be the top of my acting performances."
