Humanity has done some pretty innovative things. We discovered fire. We invented the Internet. We even figured out that covering a toilet paper roll with tin foil can create pure magic!
Now only one true question remains—what to do with all our wine corks?
If you’re like me, you like your wine and if you like to drink, you accumulate a lot of corks. Cork is actually a pretty cool material, though. It’s typically harvested in Portugal from a specific kind of oak tree called—shocker!—the Cork Oak. It’s buoyant, waterproof, strong enough to endure weight, and its ability to compress and expand makes it perfect for sealing a bottle of wine—or crafting!
If you find yourself drowning in a sea of cork like I sometimes do, try one of these 12 easy and clever projects that are made entirely out of leftover corks. I made a wine cork board, posted the picture on Facebook, and got a ton of "likes." You should try it too!
