Ana Paula Nasciemento, 40, was out for her daily morning walk along the Assabet River Rail Trail in Massachusetts. She was enjoying her stroll, snapping photos of her surroundings along the way.
Out of nowhere, a stranger grabbed Ana from behind, threw her to the ground, and tried to sexually assault her in the woods.
Ana thought she was going to die that day. Despite the fact her attacker was hitting her and telling her to keep quiet, she felt the instinctual need to fight back.
Ana managed to get away from the crazed man. Then she remembered she'd had the camera in her phone already open.
The man ran down the path in an effort to escape scot-free, but he didn't realize Ana was recording him — a snap decision that led the police right back to him.
