Every family has its secrets, but for Nia Hayes's family, it was the identity of her half-sister that remained unknown for as long as she could remember — almost 36 years.
She had always known of this sister's existence, as her father would sometimes mention the baby he had from another marriage, but would never say more about her. There was no other clue to who she was, or even where she was.
Recently, Nia added a high school friend on Facebook, a man who had logged on for the first time in years to raise awareness for ALS. Once he accepted, he started putting the pieces of the puzzle together. There was another woman he was friends with, a colleague named Lana, whose father had the same name as his high school friend.
The two women contact each other, and they confirmed the suspicion: they were, in fact, long lost sisters. They have the same cravings, same laugh, and even live less than a mile away from one another.
After all this time, it's a miracle the two were able to find one another under such circumstances!
