Getting pulled over by police officers is one of the most uncomfortable situations ever. Even if you did absolutely nothing wrong, those familiar feelings of anxiety start to creep up.
It's a nightmare situation for many people, though for a few drivers in Michigan's Jackson County, it turned out to be an amazing surprise.
Police deputies in the area pulled a few people over. After asking them the usual "Do you know why I pulled you over today?" they began to ask strange questions.
The strangest one was, "What's on your Christmas list?"
What these stunned drivers didn't know was that the deputies actually had microphones on, relaying their answers to some "helpers" from American One Credit Union who'd partnered with the officers for the surprise.
Once they had the list, they came out to meet the drivers with bags full of presents. One driver received new boots while a man was given toys for her 1-year-old niece.
This stroke of generosity was just a way to show that cops aren't the bad guys, and to add a helping hand to those who might not be able to go on huge shopping sprees this year.
"It was gonna be kind of tough this year to put something under the tree,” Claire Schulcz said. “So this is really gonna be helpful."
