While most people shriek at the sight of seeing a large bee buzzing around them, Alexandrea Pilloud treats these bugs the same way she treats her beloved pets. She has made it her mission to save dying bumble bees around her community, but it's her bizarre method that has everyone talking!
During a recent interview with WCNC, Pilloud says she's been finding at least five dying bumble bees a day while walking through Seattle's Madison Park. During her most recent "rescue," Pilloud claims she poured a drop or two of Mountain Dew in her hand and let the bee drink. She also gave it a back rub. After a few minutes, the bee perked up and flew off.
That's quite an unorthodox approach, but the woman, who has been named "The Bee Whisperer" by friends, swears by her method. This woman's efforts to save a tiny bee prove that no living creature is too small for a second chance.
"Everyone needs a chance at life," she told WCNC. "Just giving these guys a chance."
It's so wonderful seeing good-hearted people stepping up to save an animal in need. What do you think of her method for resuscitating the bees? Tell us in the comments below!
