The birth of a baby might be one of the greatest moments in a person's life. Hopefully, everything about the process goes according to plan, but sometimes a little surprise can be a blessing too.
Utah couple, Ashley and Tyson Gardner, tried for eight years to become pregnant, but they never were successful. They tried everything they could and spoke to many specialists, but nothing proved effective. The loving couple was finally able to save enough money to try in-vitro fertilization after eight years of heartache and struggle, which worked!
And boy, did it ever work!
When Ashley and Tyson went in for their first ultrasound, Tyson decided to monitor the experience. The ultrasound gave the couple a big surprise they didn't expect, but one they were incredibly grateful to receive. The photos he took of Ashley's reaction eventually went viral on the Internet, and the couple recently gave birth to the eagerly-anticipated new arrivals.
Maybe the couple had to wait longer than they wanted to start a family, but as you'll see, when they were blessed with the ability to create their own family, they ended up with more blessings than they ever anticipated.

Ashley and Tyson have been documenting their fertility struggles as inspiration to other couples having difficulty conceiving. Tyson arranged a photo shoot for his wife...

...so he could capture her reaction to the news that the doctor confirmed she was pregnant.

Shortly thereafter, the couple excitedly went in for their first ultra-sound.

What they saw on the screen surprised everyone—even the doctors.

Ashley was not just pregnant with one new baby.

Tyson and Ashley were having quadruplets!

Specifically, Ashley discovered she'd be giving birth to two sets of identical twins.

Twins result from IVF cycles in approximately one percent of all cases. Only 30% of twins are identical. Doctors estimate that the odds of anyone giving birth to two sets of identical twins is one in 70 million.

They were grateful for these blessings, but knew that carrying quadruplets would be tricky. Ashley said to her friends and family on Facebook wall, "We need all the love and support we can get and please know that I am extremely high risk and things can change at a moments notice for us. We are just continuing to put our faith in The Lord and know it will work out the way it is suppose to!"
Fortunately, it did work out. The four little girls were delivered on December 28th, 2014.

There were a few difficulties, however. Ashley had some ruptured membranes and her contractions grew in intensity, so the babies were delivered 12 week early. Despite being premature, the babies are healthy and continue to thrive.

They named their daughters Indie, Esme, Scarlett and Evangeline.

As they wrote on their facebook page, "One in a million or one in 70 million, we think our babies are heaven sent!"
