Spring is in the air. To celebrate the beginning of warmer weather, why not work on some easy and creative springtime crafts to make with your kids and grandkids? I love crafting with recycled items, and today's project is one of my favorites: turning a paper towel roll into a bird feeder!
Making your own bird feeder is an easy project to do and one our feathered friends are sure to love. This little project is a great reuse of empty paper towel rolls, and it will help clean out your home while having a little fun with your kids, too.
This is an affordable and easy craft for kids that turned out to be a lot of fun! Of course, the best part is watching for the "visitors" that come.

Materials:
—Paper towel rolls
—Peanut butter (*Note: If you want this to be allergy-free, use honey.)
—Bird seed
—Ribbon
—Hole punch
—Scissors
1. Cut the paper towel roll down the center, to give you two separate rolls.
2. With a hole punch, make a hole on both ends of the paper towel roll. (Repeat with second roll.)
3. Spread peanut butter over the outside of the paper towel roll.
4. Pour bird seeds onto parchment paper. (This will make cleaning up much faster later!)
5. Roll the paper towel tube through the seeds, making sure it's completely covered.
6. Set aside on a paper towel. Repeat steps with the second paper towel roll.
7. Pull a string through the holes made earlier, and tie a knot at the top.
When you're finished, hang it on a tree outdoors, and watch the birds flock.
