After the movie Tangled came out in 2010, people all over the world began growing out their hair to look more like Rapunzel.
Little girls loved the blond heroine, relating to her happy-go-lucky spirit and her quest for freedom. They also adored her luscious locks, and many wanted to emulate the same look.
Most women don't end up growing their hair out until it reaches well past their feet — but one woman, Andrea Colson, is well on her way to doing just that.
33-year-old Andrea is a Christian missionary, but she's best-known for her long red-gold hair.
In fact, she's often referred to as a "real-life Rapunzel."
And it's easy to see why! Andrea has ankle-length strawberry-blonde hair, a sunny complexion, and a smile worthy of any Disney princess.
Now, this real-life Rapunzel is revealing the secret ingredients that keep her long hair strong and shiny — and they're a lot more common than you might think.

Andrea Colson is a 33-year-old Christian missionary who lives in Micronesia.
Recently, Andrea has started making headlines for her ankle-length hair.
Everyone has always asked Andrea how she maintains her 64-inch long hair, and she's finally revealing her secret: peanut butter and coconut oil.
Andrea claims that eating a spoonful of peanut butter each day has kept her hair strong and glossy.
But peanut butter isn't the only food item Andrea uses to keep her hair in tip-top condition. She also massages coconut oil into her locks twice a week.
Andrea has been growing out her hair since she was just 2 years old, and but it's only in the past decade that it reached its current length.
Every day, Andrea spends half an hour braiding her hair into complex plaits — this keeps it from getting knotted and keeps it out of her face while she's working.
And she's been rocking this ankle-length look for the past seven years!
By the time Andrea was a teenager, her hair was already down to her knees — she kept growing it until it hit her ankles.
Every few months, Andrea gets a trim to make sure the ends don't get too worn down and frizzy.
Andrea says the question she gets most from people is whether her hair is real or not. Of course, it's 100% natural.
In fact, Andrea thinks that never dying her hair has helped to keep it in such great shape.
In addition to eating peanut butter and using coconut oil in her hair, Andrea has a few other tricks she employs to keep her locks long and strong.
She only ever washes her hair in cold water, avoids using hair dryers, and uses an egg, coconut oil, and olive oil mask once a month.
Andrea is so used to having long hair. Even though it takes days to dry and requires special hair ties, it doesn't bother her at all.
Since she's had this style for so long, she can't imagine ever cutting it.
She says it would feel like cutting off one of her limbs — her hair is part of her.
And she doesn't only see it as a body part, she sees it as an extension of herself, and her artistic personality.
She's able to create amazing, braided styles with her hair — they're totally one-of-a-kind and unique, just like Andrea.
