Dog owners everywhere know how clever their pups can be. When dogs want something, they will do anything and everything they can to get their way.
Some dogs become masters of the "puppy dog eyes" to get attention or treats from their owners. Others bark and whine.
Kennady Longhurst and husband Alex Salsberry know that their dog, Sullivan, loves hanging out with his owners.
Alex, Kennady, and Sullivan (or "Sully") go on hikes, cuddle at home, and spend every minute they can together.
Like most young adults, though, Alex and Kennady have jobs that require them to leave Sully alone at home during the day. Recently, Kennady went home during her lunch break and noticed Sullivan making a strange coughing noise.
She was concerned about her sweet dog, so she immediately called Alex. As Sullivan kept coughing, Kennady started freaking out — but then, out of nowhere, Sully seemed to be completely normal.

Kennady told BuzzFeed News that once she began researching CPR for dogs, Sully started acting normally again.
He appeared to be his normal self, but he still had this weird cough.

Sully's cough stopped overnight, but as the couple got ready to leave for work the next day, he started coughing again.
Alex decided to work from home so he could take Sullivan to the vet.

The vet tested Sully for a variety of illnesses, but they all came back negative. Sullivan was totally healthy.
He prescribed antibiotics in case Sully had an infection, but the vet was confused about the cause of Sullivan's cough.

Alex and Kennady kept a close eye on Sully for the next few days, but he kept coughing.
They checked in with the vet again, and he told them something surprising: Sullivan was probably faking it for extra attention.

When Kennady found out what was happening, she thought it was too funny, so she posted about it on Twitter.
Her tweet got a lot of attention. Within a few days, her post had over 51,000 retweets and over 197,000 likes.

Kennady wrote, "husband stayed home from work cuz our dog was coughing. We took him to the vet and paid 85$ for him to tell us OUR DOG WAS FAKE COUGHING."
Everyone who saw the tweet thought it was absolutely hilarious, and some other pet owners explained they'd gone through the same thing.

One woman wrote, "Our neighbors had a horse that faked a pathetic limp when it saw my mom. Everyone knew it was faked except my softie of a mom."
Another person commented, "My dog milked his bad paw by limping & holding it up… got extra treats etc… friends came over, limped & held paw up again… on other leg."

Yet another woman said, "my dog faked AN ENTIRE PREGNANCY CAUSE SHE WANTED ATTENTION."
"I literally thought my dog was the only one to do this," wrote another person.

So many people appear to have experienced something like this with their pets.
Has your dog ever done something like this before?
