Expectant Parents Plan To Name Their Baby After Favorite Restaurant: Olive Garden

Naming your baby is an important decision that will stay with you and your child for the rest of your lives.

Sometimes names are chosen based on which ones were popular that year. Other times, parents opt for a name that holds a special meaning to them or their family.

An Arkansas couple chose a name that was both popular and meaningful for their daughter, who is expected in early December: Olivia Garton.

If you're thinking that the couple's choice sounds a lot like a favorite Italian restaurant chain, there's a very good reason why.

Jordan and Justin Garton admit to frequenting their local Olive Garden thanks to the generous portions (and of course, unlimited bread sticks), according to ArkansasOnline.

As you can imagine, the internet was very excited to learn that the world would be expecting a child who will have such a delicious name.

Proud father-to-be Justin announced the name on Twitter by sharing a photo of this adorable onesie complete with baby Olivia's very own logo.

According to ArkansasOnline, the couple has indeed enjoyed plenty of meals at Olive Garden recently thanks to Justin being able to get his hands on a coveted $100 pass.

This pass is part of a promotion that entitles the holder to nearly unlimited food for about two months. They sell out quickly, but the Gartons purchased theirs and are certainly getting their money's worth.

Jordan tells LittleThings:

We fell in love with the name Olivia while looking for Italian names to pay homage to my Italian heritage, and then noticed the pun and thought it was hilarious.

One of Justin’s graphic designer friends surprised us with the adorable onesie in the Olive Garden font after we told them her name and about the extra little joke.

Jordan also discovered yet another reason why the name Olivia was so perfect for their new baby.

She continues:

The other day in the comment section of one of the articles, I saw someone posted about the name Olivia being first used in a Shakespearean play.

I was curious and looked it up and it was derived from “Oliva,” an Italian name, but was indeed first used as Olivia in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. That just makes her name even more perfect because Justin and I met doing a Shakespeare play in college!

The Gartons aren't the only ones excited to name their new baby.

Of course, Olive Garden caught wind of their namesake and wanted to pay their respects, too.

While Olivia's name is more than just an ode to pasta, I think we can all agree that Italian food is still something worth celebrating!

Olivia likely will not come with unlimited breadsticks, unless Olive Garden has something very generous up their sleeve.
