Cats try really hard to convince us that they're graceful, powerful lords of nature, slinking and leaping effortlessly and silently through the night, stalking and pouncing on their prey.
Of course, that's not always the case. Thanks to a worldwide fascination with cats being silly, we now have evidence of their less-than-graceful moments, like the cat who decided to test its fighting skills on a rather unenthusiastic opponent.
And then there is this pair of kitties who must inspect their humans' meals.
The cats belong to a couple in Japan, and make regular appearances at the table — and on Instagram — and they're adorably silly. They also seem to have some serious opinions about what their humans are eating, and you can just imagine what they're thinking.
Of course, their humans are more than happy to oblige this silliness, often picking them up to table level to get a great photo of cats and food together. And the food? It looks pretty amazing, too!
Check out some of these delightfully silly photos of two things everyone loves — cats and food. You'll notice that one of the cats is wearing a collar in some of the photos, but don't worry! It's just to protect a medical treatment, he's fine!

Each day, the cats come by to inspect their humans' meal. After all, a proper diet is important for any well-kept human.
And let's face it — cats are pretty convinced that we're the pets!
And they want to know exactly what's on the table.
And luckily for us humans, these two cats have no shortage of hilarious, adorable poses for the camera.
Plus, we get to marvel (and drool) at the feats of cooking created by the human members of this family. They all look delicious!
And sometimes things even get festive. These fluffy hats are modeled after a traditional Japanese demon. And they work pretty well as cat costumes! It also seems that in the presence of some tasty sashimi, these cats will tolerate wearing hats.
Sometimes, the curiosity really just gets the better of them, though.
However, they're less enthusiastic in the mornings. We can relate, kitties.
But when it comes to food that's also a dangly, stringy object? Then they're fascinated!
And of course, Japanese cooking involves a lot of fish, so that's another meal they're very interested in.
Sometimes, though, they're just confused by what humans think is good eating.
But there's always something to celebrate with these two around.
And sometimes they can't help but get excited! Or maybe just have a yawn captured on camera…
And of course, their humans like to get involved, too. We just hope they share some of their nibbles with the cats!
See more silliness, both at the table and elsewhere, on the family's Instagram, and be sure to SHARE with anyone who needs a good laugh!
