Bentley the Corgi has developed Degenerative Myelopathy, which is a disease that affects dogs similar to the way muscular dystrophy affects humans. Bentley has slowly lost the ability to move his hind legs, and his owners noticed that his zest for life had also gone down.
Unwilling to give up on him, they decided to build him a custom wheelchair, and since his very first few steps, Bentley has regained his happiness, and is even running these days!
"Since he has had his wheels his attitude has really changed. He is excited in the mornings and he is more confident to use the little control he does have left in his back legs," his owner says. "The chair has really helped with his confidence."
I love it when I see people going above and beyond for their pets – the devotion they have for us knows no bounds, so the more we can try and reciprocate, the better!
