According to Haley's mom, nothing had lifted Haley's spirits more than the idea of meeting football player Tim Tebow.
After being diagnosed at only 15 with ehlers-danlos syndrome, a potentially fatal disease, Haley's life had taken a drastic turn, and she had been spending so much energy just trying to fight that there was barely any time to feel good.
But when she was picked by the Tim Tebow foundation to have a weekend of feeling like a princess, and saw that her sports idol not only wanted to meet her, but spend time with her and get to know her, her spirits changed. She felt special, like she mattered, and like she could go on fighting.
This is such a beautiful story! Other athletes should take note!
