Some rules are meant to be broken and for FC Roma midfielder, Alessandro Florenzi, everything is fair game once your family is involved.
Florenzi is facing some serious punishment after running off the field and into the stands to hug his 82-year-old grandmother just seconds after scoring an incredible goal. Florenzi, just 23-years-old, told the press that this was the first time his grandmother, who goes by Nonna, had ever seen him play soccer. Over the years Nonna had told Florenzi that if he ever saw her in the stands he should wave hello.
Just as any good grandson would do, as soon as he scored the goal, Florenzi lived up to his promise and topped it by a million. Sadly, while his grandmother wept tears of joy, the referee didn't take to kindly to his loving gesture and gave Florenzi a yellow card. The player also faces fines from the soccer club.
But all that is well and good for Florenzi, who believes the hug heard round the world was all worth it. According to an interview given by Florenzi's coach, Rudi Garcia, "He's going to pay a fine, but he will be happy to pay it."
What a proud moment for the Florenzi family! Enjoy and please SHARE!
