For all the hard work they do, the tough decisions they make, and the danger they put themselves in on a daily basis, our law enforcement officers deserve recognition and praise. Perhaps they aren't rewarded enough, and many civilians find it in their hearts to show their appreciation through random acts of kindness. No matter how small or large, these acts make a difference in the lives of these officers. One woman decided to reach into her own pocket to pay for an officer's lunch, and this little girl made 4,000 crosses to keep officers in 24 states safe. We're sure that they know their work is important, but it doesn't hurt to be reminded every once in a while!
When Deputy Cody Yates pulled up to the drive-thru to pay for his breakfast, he wasn't expecting to hear the cashier tell him that it had already been paid for! The customer in line before him had taken care of bill, and she didn't even know that it was an officer who was behind her!
Touched by the gesture, the deputy set out to find out who the customer was. He searched for her on Facebook, and discovered that her name was Angel Brooks. Angel was a wife and mother: her husband has terminal cancer, and her daughter has cerebral palsy.
That's when Yates decided that this was a sign for him to pay it forward…
