In 2014, Ellen met a kind and generous mother named Suzie. In 2008, Suzie and her husband, Marcus, both lost their jobs. They were struggling in silence, never letting their three kids know how bad things really got. After Ellen surprised Suzie and Chris with a brand new car, the couple decided to pay it forward by donating their old car to charity.
A few months later, Ellen invited Suzie and her family back to the show. Suzie knew Ellen wanted to talk to her on-air, but what she didn't know was that her daughter, Sydney, secretly filmed a special interview. "My mom is the definition of a superhero, and she does everything she can to make sure we have the best life possible. She always had a smile on her face, and she was always saying, 'Tomorrow's gonna be better.' And that's just so great to know that you have someone that strong," Sydney said.
But that's not all. The family's home needed a ton of work, but Suzie and Marcus were unable to make any of the necessary fixes or renovations.
