The beauty of being a DIY-er is that if you dream it, chances are you'll figure out a way to build it.
When Imgur user 1lonelyhusband dreamed up a rowboat-shaped bookcase, he quickly dove into construction, bringing his idea to life.
He chose to build the bookcase out of sturdy pine, and started by sawing the bookcase's backboard into a rowboat-like shape. He then laid shelving along the bookcase's backing.
Shelving in place, this DIY-er gently curved wooded slats around bookcase's sides, further simulating the piece's rowboat-like design.
After a fresh coat of paint, this DIY-er walked away from his project with a unique, nautical-themed bookcase.
All this DIY-er did was dream up a concept, trust his creativity, and let his crafting talents take the reins. This project just goes to show that no idea is too wild when you know how to DIY.

Imgur user 1lonelyhusband recently hatched a plan to make a one-of-a-kind bookcase.
This bookcase would serve all the normal bookcase-like functions, but would also be shaped like a rowboat.
He chose to build this rowboat bookcase out of pine, a sturdy option.
To give the bookcase that quintessential rowboat shape, he began by sawing out the bookshelf's backing.
He used reference measurements to maintain an even shape throughout.
Once he sawed and sanded the bookshelf's back into the proper shape, he secured its shelves in place.
He added these as decorative trim to the front of each shelf for additional flare.
To solidify his rowboat look and feel, this DIY-er enclosed his shelves with curved wooden slats.
The slats were a bit temperamental to work with, as they didn't necessarily want to take this curved shape at first.
However, this DIY-er kept his cool, and carefully positioned each slat in place, moving from the back of the piece to its front.
With a fresh coat of satin green paint, this bookshelf really started coming together.
This DIY-er added a wooden cap at the bookshelf's base.
He also covered the top with this decorative wooden piece, which is yet another nod to his rowboat inspiration.
Rope lines the bookshelf's front edges, as yet another delightfully nautical touch.
With every piece in place, this rowboat bookshelf was complete!
While it certainly evokes the idea of a rowboat, it's also just a very well-made, lovely piece of furniture.
This DIY-er dreamed up a rowboat bookshelf and followed through on his idea, showcasing his exquisite craftsmanship skills in the process.
