I know it sounds silly, but if there was an actual zombie apocalypse, what would you do? If that sounds too far-fetched, what would you do if there was a serious international Ebola breakout or an atomic bomb was aimed towards the U.S.?
Hide under (or inside of) a rock? Hop on the first rocket ship headed into space? Save all the helpless puppies, kitties, and mini-ponies on earth before a swarm of hungry, brainless people-monsters known as zombies gobble them up utilizing their horrendous table manners?
I know what I’d do. I’d flee to the Adirondack Mountains. It may seem like a weird choice at first. Sure, you can escape Ebola, or even a mass of slow, limping zombies at the top of the Adirondack’s remote 5,344-foot peak, but not an atomic bomb.
Or can you?
The real draw of this mountain region is a very special cabin. It may look like an ordinary cabin BUT underneath this beautiful home is the shocking key to surviving any kind of disaster.
And believe me, it’s pretty astonishing.
The property is perched on 19 acres in Adirondack State Park.
The view is pretty epic, as the cabin is set in a remote area that even the most private person on the planet would love.
The home comes complete with a runway…
A launch pad…
And storage for an aircraft.
But these features are not the most interesting details about this idyllic cabin that was built during the Cold War.
I mean, look how elegantly they renovated the living area! Pretty chic for a house built in the '50s by two cousins, if you ask me.
Yet, despite the upgrades, there are some elements from the past that still remain in the home, especially in the basement.

The door seems innocent enough, but it leads to the last thing you'd imagine...

The bunker has tasteful renovations, making it just as beautiful as the upstairs spaces.

Like this missile silo.
A missile silo is an underground missile launch facility. This facility has nine stories in the silo, which provides plenty of space for more living space or missiles. You know, in case there’s an apocalypse.
All in all, it’s a fabulous fortress fit for family, friends, and hiding large quantities of food and weapons.
