Artist Zaria Forman spent her childhood following her photographer mother around the world. She was intrigued by the beautiful landscapes, and wanted to recreate nature's beauty. Today she is doing just that — using only her fingers and hands.
Forman, known for her large-scale pastel drawings documenting Earth's shifting landscape, smudges the soft pastels into in her canvas. What makes her work unique is that she only uses her fingers to paint the hyper-realistic pieces. Of her numerous works of art, she's recreated choppy seas and gorgeous, towering icebergs. Many of the pieces will make you do a double take because they look so real. It really is all a matter of perspective.
"Being out in nature is certainly what gives me perspective. It means the whole world to just see the ocean and look at its vastness and, like, ah, right, this is what life's about," Forman says in the video.
