He Was Out In The Middle Of The Ocean…But Nothing Prepared Him For THIS!

Paddleboarder Rich German had a close encounter with a group of killer whales while he was out having fun off the coast of Laguna Beach, CA recently. And it was all caught on tape!

In the video, German is out on his paddleboard when five whales begin to swim under his board. The orcas hung around for a while and were actually friendly and very interactive! At one point, one whale comes up for breath just feet from German, spraying the water between them with its spout.

According to German, he has seen other kinds of whales on his trips, but never killer whales. In the video, he says this was his "dream come true." He also noted that he wasn't afraid. He claims he was too excited to even think about being scared.

"Safe to say it was a 'whale' of a weekend," he wrote on Facebook.

This is such a beautiful and amazing moment caught on camera. It's such a thrill to see these giant beasts being playful and fun, as they glide through the water. It's much cooler — and less terrifying — than the hippo that was caught chasing a boat of tourists in Africa last week.
