When the camera panned into the live trap, my jaw completely dropped. I mean, can you imagine finding this?
Justin went to go check his sons' trap early one morning. Apparently, they check the trap on a daily basis and just enjoy looking the animals, then releasing them. (I'm totally against this by the way, but that's not the point of the video.) The animals are generally foxes or smaller mammals that go physically unharmed. But on this particular day, Justin looked into the trap and was shocked — because what they had caught was a full-grown mountain lion. Needless to say, this beautiful big cat was furious and ready to pounce the first chance she could.
Justin had his wife grab the camera and head to the safety of their car while she pointed it at the trap. His plan was to carefully lift up the trap door and allow the lion to escape without causing harm to anyone or anything. It's wonderful to see that Justin released this beautiful creature back to the wild. I'm sure many other trappers would just shoot and bury her instead of dealing with it like this.
