Brave Mom Rescues Another Mother And Four Children From A Burning Car

Two women are sharing a tearful embrace when the cameras started rolling, but when you hear their story? It’ll be difficult to hold back your own tears. At least it was for me!

Latonya Carter was on her way down the expressway in Hillsborough County when she spotted an SUV engulfed in flames.

"From one mother to another, there was no way I could've passed by her and not helped," she says of her heroics, having heard the cries of children within the vehicle and immediately leapt into action.

Despite the life-threatening danger and heat of the flames, Latonya didn’t even hesitate.

A mother herself, she felt connected to Alicia in that moment, and helped all five of the occupants in the SUV from the burning wreckage. "If I was in your situation, I would want somebody to do the exact same thing for me," she says.

You don’t need to save lives for a living in order to do just that when faced with an opportunity to help. Many people can be heroes — such as the commuters who raced to the aid of a man who fell on the subway tracks. Even a 6-year-old has the ability to think fast and protect others!

In an act of kindness that was nothing short of miraculous, Latonya is responsible for saving the lives of Alicia’s three children as well as her niece.
