Preppy Mom Reveals Her New Look After Punk Rock Makeover

Janet Kelleher isn't like your average mom. The 62-year-old was diagnosed with cancer in 2000, but after 15 years cancer-free, she's battling the beast of breast cancer again.

There's one thing you might notice about Janet: she doesn't mind sporting a pink mohawk with pride (a look we thought we would only see on rebellious grandma Baddie Winkleand she is completely fearless.

"You work with what you have, and you're grateful for it," Janet told TODAY. "There's really two choices, as I see it in life. These experiences can make you bitter or they can make you better."

Her daughter, Sarah Kelleher, has been her rock throughout the process. Janet convinced Sarah to shave her hair into a pink mohawk for her during her first round of chemo. She knew she would be losing her hair anyway.

The mohawk is already gone due to treatments, but Sarah, the devoted daughter that she is, shaved off her own hair to make a wig for her dear old mother.

"I'm going to ride this body into the ground. A life without scars is hardly a life at all," she says.

Janet has always been a bit of an outlier. The mother has taken her daughter zip-lining, parasailing, hot air ballooning, and scuba diving. Janet shows us all that a life well lived is a life lived fearlessly!
