100-Year-Old Reaches An Important Milestone After Waiting 80 Years For It

Attending high school and graduating after four years is a privilege that many of us may not know we have. We assume that this is normal and expected of us, but we forget that many kids today still don't have that opportunity.

Many teenagers years before our time also didn't have the chance to finish their education. Instead, they were forced into jobs, apprenticeships, and even war.

In the case of Clare Piccioto, the Great Depression was cause for her to quit school and get a job like many youngsters at the time, though her brothers were allowed to continue their schooling.

She worked in a curtain factory, and then got married and had a family. As a result, Clare did not graduate, though she was able to expand her vocabulary by reading encyclopedias and dictionaries.

That was 80 or so years ago. Clare just turned 100 years old, a huge milestone!

But during her first bingo session, she was presented with a priceless gift: her high school diploma. She graduated, even if it did take 80 years, and reached two milestones in the same day!

After attending so many graduations, from her children's to her grandchildren's, it was about time she had her own.

Please SHARE to congratulate Clare on her major well-deserved accomplishment!
