Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are still waiting for Baby Sussex to arrive, along with the entire rest of the world. Based on a recent announcement about Prince Harry's travel plans, it looks like Meghan Markle's due date is VERY SOON.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first baby is due to arrive in late April or early May — aka right now. The couple plans to announce when Meghan goes into labor, and that could happen literally anytime at this point. However, there's been no word yet.
This week, Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Harry will travel to the Netherlands on May 8 and May 9 for a royal engagement. After that, he'll go to The Hague.
It's unlikely that the royal family would schedule Prince Harry for any royal obligations if he were still waiting for his baby to arrive. So this announcement is a major hint that the baby will arrive sometime within the next few days. Eek!!!
Right now, royal fans all over the world are waiting with bated breath for the arrival of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's first baby. Meghan is due to give birth any moment now.
Per a previous announcement from the couple, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex don't plan to announce the birth or post photos right away. But they will announce when Meghan has gone into labor, and that could happen anytime!
The couple has not announced their exact due date, but based on recent announcements from the royal family, fans can make a pretty good guess.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, announced that they will visit Germany on May 7 for three days. They'll presumably want to be nearby when Meghan and Harry welcome their baby, so one would also assume that the baby will come before they leave for Germany.
Harry also announced an official royal engagement in Amsterdam on May 8 and May 9. From there, he'll travel to The Hague for the one-year countdown to the 2020 Invictus Games.
So… seems like Baby Sussex will have to arrive before that, right?
That's just a week away, so the clock is a-ticking!
It looks like Baby Sussex will arrive sometime in the next few days. The royal family likely wouldn't schedule Prince Harry for any engagements unless it was certain that he'd be available, i.e., not on child labor duty.
While Harry has continued to appear in royal engagements in recent weeks, none of them were scheduled ahead of time. Instead, they were surprise appearances.
Meghan had previously let slip that her baby was due in late April or early May. But, y'know, you can't really predict when these things will actually happen!
In addition to scheduling, other clues have royal fans getting antsy for Baby Sussex. For example, Meghan's mom Doria Ragland was recently reported to have arrived in London in time for the birth.
Some outlets are even theorizing that the Duchess of Sussex has ALREADY given birth without announcing it.
She hasn't been seen in public since March 19.
The Sussexes recently launched their very own Instagram page, separate from either Kensington Palace or Buckingham Palace.
Fans believe that that's where they'll choose to announce the baby news to everyone.
That's a break in royal tradition, which has royal moms pose for a post-birth photo shoot right after labor. Princess Diana started the tradition in the 1980s.
And Kate Middleton continued the tradition with each of her own pregnancies.
But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are known for wanting to do things their own way, and their approach to their first baby's birth is no different. They reportedly plan to give birth at a different hospital than the usual one, too.
The countdown continues! We can't wait to meet Baby Sussex sometime soon.
