It seems like handymen and women can do just about anything that they set their mind to.
DIY projects are so amazing to watch because you get to see people's wildest ideas become a reality.
In the past, master crafters have make summer huts, beautiful gardens, and even cool coffee tables.
But when this carpenter dad mentioned in an Imgur post that he wanted to make an amazing pirate-themed bedroom for his son's birthday, I was interested to see if he could pull off his elaborate idea.
And he definitely didn't disappoint, showing every step that he took to make the awesome room; complete with a bed, loft, curly slide, and a climbing wall!
By the end of the process, I was so excited to see the final product, though I'm sure I wasn't as excited as his son!
Check out the cool construction below—it will make you believe that building-saavy people can do anything!

This master carpenter father had a great gift idea for his son's 4th birthday.
And he set out to make the most amazing pirate play structure come to life!

A cousin of his had just moved out of their spare room, leaving it bare and ready to be redecorated.
"I'm a handy guy, why not give him the room I would have dreamed of as a child?" he explained in the post.

He started with support beams to make a little loft for the room

Then he began to build the structure, making the outline for what will eventually be the cool play place.

He then added in the floor, sitting back to asses his handy work so far.

Next, the 7 foot turbo slide was delivered and assembled!

A mouth for the slide was constructed so that it could connect to the cool canopy.
We can already tell that this is going to look amazing when it's done!

The slide was then attached to the mouth a little safety rails were strung along the edges.
Safety was certainly a top priority when making the cool room.

The view from the top is amazing!
Next, a new coat of paint was added to the walls, making it looks as good as new.

Then cool nautical stripes were added to the walls, adding to the seaworthy theme.

The loft was a stained a deep dark brown, that definitely made it look like a boat on the high seas.
And clearly his son approves of everything that is coming together.

Along with the cool curly slide, a pirate boat bed was moved in.
It wasn't done yet, but with carpet and paint done it was hard to keep him out any longer.

The final touch to the whole project was the way to get to the top loft— a climbing wall!
The colorful rocks were all carefully placed along the wall to create a cool, yet, safe climb up.

The final product is super stunning and so fun looking— plus his son was thrilled!

This dad said that he was "going for a dad of the year award" and we would say with this set up, he is definitely going to win that award.
