Especially when that baby has just woken her up from a nap, and she has every right to be a little bit annoyed at her cub.
Everyone knows that a new mom needs her sleep. Everyone, it seems, but that new mom's baby.
But that's the way it always goes. Everyone in the world lets her sleep, but her baby finds the perfect moment to wake her up.
Like this bulldog mama who really doesn't want to wake up when her puppy starts trying to get her attention. You have to give it to her, she's sticking to her guns on this one.
That wasn't the road that this majestic lioness took when it came to holding onto her sweet dreams, or opening her eyes and giving her cub the attention he was asking for.
She quickly wakes up and lifts her head to see who was bothering her. And then, she does the absolute sweetest thing in the world.
She wraps her paws around her little one and gives him the kind of snuggle that only a mom can give to her child.
I couldn't help but "aww" right along with the camerawoman when I was watching this!
