The Rio 2016 Olympics were incredible and many Olympians became internet sensations after their wins.
Laurie Hernandez rose to fame for her amazing gymnastics after Team USA won the gold for all-around. Laurie shone beautifully during the competition, with the most dazzling smile on her face as she represented her country.
Since Team USA dominated the gymnastics floor this summer, the Final Five – what the girls dubbed themselves – have been touring the country. They've been giving interviews, taking selfies with celebrities like Zac Efron and Beyonce, and attending flashy awards shows.
Just this week Laurie Hernandez got to show love to her favorite baseball team, the New York Mets! The 16-year-old athlete threw out the first pitch at one of their games.
Laurie literally flips over before throwing the ball. It's a true testament to how incredible of a gymnast she is and how she is not the best pitcher. But that's alright, I doubt she'd ever need to make the career change from gymnastics to baseball!
Like everything Laurie does, she threw that pitch with a giant smile on her face. You can see her awesome flip in the video below!
