Taking care of long hair is no easy task, so it's no wonder that so many women dream of just chopping it all off and never having to worry about it again. After all, plenty of men do it, so why shouldn't we?
Even though it sounds like a brilliant plan when you're spending half your morning trying to dry and style your hair, the reality is that many of us never actually go through with cutting it all off (or burning it off, if you try this bizarre Brazilian technique). But there are lots of women that actually do decide to rock a shorter style… and look amazing with it. Sure, it's a bit harder to do this gorgeous waterfall braid when you have a pixie cut, but the low maintenance and chic look of a cropped 'do will make you forget all about the days of ponytails and curling irons!
Unfortunately, there are still people out there who think that short hair on women looks "masculine." But don't let that deter you from following your most daring hair dreams. If you're still unsure about going short, check out these gorgeous female stars who went to the salon and came back without a lot of hair, but with a hot new look. And let us know in the comments which one you think wears it best!
Make sure you SHARE these beautiful styles with everyone you know and remind the world that short hair on a woman looks amazing!

I'm pretty sure that no matter what this Mexican-born Kenyan actress did with her hair, she'd still look like a princess, but she looks particularly breathtaking with her iconic close-cropped style. Keep an eye out for her when Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens hits theaters!

OK, so Zendaya didn't actually cut her long, flowing locks off in order to achieve this gorgeous look. Instead, she somehow managed to fit all her hair under a wig! Not everyone liked the young star's style, but she shrugged off the hateful comments with ease.

It's almost weird to imagine Halle Berry without her signature short hair at this point… though I think if she chose to permanently don the silver locks she wears when she plays Storm in the X-Men movies, I highly doubt anyone would say it was a bad choice.
10. Carey Mulligan
