A world made out of nothing but food sounds pretty much like the best thing ever, and photographer Carl Warner has come pretty darn close to making that dream a reality through his unbelievable "foodscapes." Carl told CNN that he selects the foods he wants to use for his shoots, then employs the help of a food stylist and model maker to help make it a reality. From there, he photographs the food as quickly as he can to keep it from going bad under all the hot lights he uses. Sometimes, he has to capture the scenes in layers and combine them later in order to prevent his art from wilting right before his eyes! But all that hard work eventually pays off in the form of dream-like scenes that are way too beautiful to eat.
Food and art are two of the world's greatest pleasures, so putting them together is pretty much guaranteed to be a great idea! We've seen some incredible edible masterpieces before, such as this leopard pancake that looks like it would be more at home in a museum than on a plate. Warner's foodscapes really take nutritious art to a whole new level, though. Before you take a closer look, these photographs don't even look like they contain food at all! Can you believe that these were taken with a camera and not painted?
If you love Warner's work as much as I do, check out his website to see more foodscapes and even buy them as prints! Number 4 on this list looks like it would be perfect for a child's bedroom, don't you think?
