Months after marrying the man of her dreams, Jennifer Carter lost her husband, Solomon Chau, after his 8-month battle with liver cancer. He was 26.
Carter announced the devastating news on her Facebook page, along with a beautiful tribute to the man she called “the most incredible person” she’s ever known. Her words demonstrate the kind of love everyone hopes to find in their lifetime, similarly to the woman who stayed by her man's side after he underwent a four limb amputation.
“Sol, you'll never know the impact you've had on me. You've taught me, through everything we've been through over these past months, to never let a day go to waste. I'm forever in your debt for showing me what love really is all about, and we learned more about it at 26 than some will learn in a lifetime. You and I should have been able to live the next 60 years of our lives together, but I'm still forever thankful that God gave us 8 incredible years," she wrote. “You're everything I could have asked for in a husband and more, and you'll always have my heart.”
Chau was diagnosed with cancer eight months before the couple initially planned to tie the knot. When his diagnosis became terminal, Chau and Carter moved up their nuptials. With the help of strangers, who donated to the couple's GoFundMe page, Chau and Carter were able to have their dream wedding.

Jennifer Carter and Solomon Chau were what you'd call a match made in heaven. The couple met on Solomon's 19th birthday and began dating shortly after. When things became serious, Solomon moved from Ontario to Toronto to be close to his love.

He later popped the question underneath the CN Tower, according to Toronto's TheStar.com. Their family and friends performed a flash mob dance, making the day even more special. Solomon also included dolphin balloons in honor of Jennifer's sister, who passed away years prior. And in April 2014, they began planning their special day.
But, a few months later, things took a devastating turn when Solomon was diagnosed with liver cancer. Shortly after, doctors told him it was terminal and he wouldn't make it to their planned wedding day in August 2015.

The loving couple knew they still wanted to say "I do" and moved up their wedding day. With the help of donations through a GoFundMe page, they raised enough money to have their dream wedding.

It was “the wedding of a lifetime.”

Solomon died 128 days later.

Jennifer announced the heartbreaking news on her Facebook page along with a tribute to the love of her life. Her emotional words truly emphasize real love. This is just so beautiful.
