But I say — why not get ahead on next summer by giving some TLC to an often overlooked part of the house: your deck! That's why, when I saw this incredible deck makeover by Imgur user tec3820, I knew I had to try it before the seasons changed. There's nothing worse than a deck that gives you splinters — and nothing better than getting to walk around barefoot (beverage in hand) and enjoying a refreshing summer breeze!

He shared a close-up of the boards — what a mess!
First, he stripped the floor and powerwashed the entire thing. Next he sanded the deck to get the whole thing feeling smooth.
It was already looking like a huge improvement from before. Right?
He enlisted his girlfriend to help him to seal the deck.
To finish? They stained the entire thing a beautiful russet. Classic!
