Remember the first time you saw your teacher at the grocery store or the movie theater?
When we were little, we all thought that our teachers lived at school, ate meals in the cafeteria, and swapped bedtime stories with the janitors. It was hard to imagine that they existed outside of your classroom or the hallway.
Of course, as we get older, we come to realize that teachers really do have their own lives outside of the classroom — like this math teacher who is also a record-holding weightlifter. And we come to greatly respect and appreciate the work they do.
But how often do we get to look inside the private lives — and thoughts — of teachers, America's most unsung heroes?
Working in education can be inspiring, uplifting, and fulfilling. But like any job, teaching has its natural downsides. So what do teachers really think about the students whose lives they affect? The answers might surprise you!
