This Easy Kimono Is The Perfect DIY Accessory

The first thing I think of when fall rolls around is layers — lots and lots of layers. So whether it's a long sweater under a leather jacket or a collared shirt under a comfy sweater, making sure you're covered for any possible shift in the weather is key (and looks great, too).

That's why we love this DIY hack for an easy-to-make kimono from YouTube beauty guru LaurDIY. Seriously, it'll take you about 30 minutes if you follow her instructions exactly. But the best part? It's a great way to give your outfit some dimension while also adding another layer for warmth (especially if the fabric you use is a little heavier, rather than the sheer version that she creates in her tutorial).

Much like the DIY convertible backless bra hack we shared recently, this one doesn't take too long but will require just a tad bit of sewing (and trust me, if even I can manage this minimal need-and-thread work, then you definitely can too). She got her scarf that she used for her kimono at Forever 21, however any fabric of her provided dimensions will work, and a quick trip to the fabric store will let you personalize your design. Here's to customized layering!

If you love this DIY kimono as much as we did, SHARE it with your friends on Facebook so they can try it, too!
