You Won’t Believe This Epic Tree House One Man Built For His Grandkids

The relationship you have with your grandparents is truly special, and it's one like no other. Mine always tried to make our time together just a little extra fun and silly — like how my grandma always made the tastiest French toast while my grandpa tried to teach me the Foxtrot in their kitchen.

Cool grandparents are everywhere, and if you're lucky enough to have some, they're a huge blessing — like these six grandparents taking an absolutely hysterical wedding photo.

But a grandparent that's silly and creative? Well, it doesn't get any better than that! That's why, when I saw the gift one grandpa from Massachusetts gave to his grandkids, I couldn't believe my eyes!

The present? A three-story, 40-foot tree house built from scratch by grandpa (and contractor) Jay Hewitt. This "playroom" is literally the size of an actual house! I adore strange and funky homes, and this tree house is right up my alley.

Before his 5-year-old grandson and 4-year-old granddaughter were born, Jay declared, “I want to build a tree house. You’ve never seen a tree house like the one I’m gonna build for them.”

Complete with climbing ropes, slides, and stairs that look straight out of a fairy-tale, this play space could entertain for weeks.

He included some amazing details, like these netted chairs and the preservation of the tree inside the actual house. With beautiful windows that provide a ton of natural light, it's an amazingly airy and calming space.
