A recent video of Vanna White shows how difficult it is for women to just … exist in the spotlight and get older. Lots of celebrities have faced backlash for getting cosmetic procedures that make them look a lot younger than they actually are, and yet, when women choose not to do this, they’re also criticized for how they look. Take Pamela Anderson, who chooses not to wear makeup, as another example. She has fully embraced the natural look that many claim to value, but in reality, people are still mad about it. It’s almost as if women can’t win.
Aging is a normal thing, but the recent video of Vanna has shown that some people still can’t accept when women — gasp — look their actual age. It’s amazing that we’re still having this conversation in 2026, but here we are.
The Wheel of Fortune host addressed a crowd at a recent event.
In the video shared on Instagram, she was speaking at the PGA’s annual ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic in South Carolina. However, the people who commented on the video didn’t seem overly interested in what Vanna actually said. Instead, the video garnered a ton of comments about the way Vanna looks.
In case you didn’t know, Vanna is 69 years old. But somehow, in the comments, some critics had the audacity to act like she looks bad for her age. “crazy how old she got,” one critic commented. “look at her arms.”
Someone else said, “Wow, wow I can’t believe how much she aged. She looks older than she is.” Older than 69? Another person actually tried to say that Vanna “looks 79,” while someone else commented, “Her hands look 90.”
Many others, however, jumped to Vanna’s defense.
Those who defended Vanna said she looks great—not that it actually matters. People couldn’t believe how many people thought it was appropriate to leave negative comments about Vanna’s appearance. A few of the people who made negative comments about Vanna’s appearance appeared to do so out of concern for her well-being rather than judgment. However, others still found it unacceptable.
“is anybody listening to what she’s saying or is all the focus on her arms and her chronological aging? omg,” someone commented. “…there is a really huge problem in society where people feel like it’s OK to comment on someone else’s appearance.”
Comments like these are exactly why so many women feel pressured to look youthful forever, many others argued. “This is why we have so many issues aging gracefully. I think she looks lovely and just as she should and she should continue to embrace it,” another person wrote.
Vanna does, indeed, look older than she did years ago.
That’s because she is older. “This is how we are supposed to look like as we age,” a commenter wrote. “I haven’t googled her age because it’s irrelevant. She looks great. She’s happy.”
And in spite of all the naysayers flooding the comments section, many others agreed. “These comments are unbelievable,” someone else commented. “She’s a 69-year-old beautiful, kind woman whose highest priority in life has not been chasing every wrinkle, unlike most celebrities now. She’s an icon!”
